City of Martin Outdoor Emergency Warning Sirens

Whelen Outdoor WarningThe safety and protection of the residents of the City of Martin is enhanced with eight emergency warning systems.  The systems were designed to provide advanced warnings in case of severe weather to our residents.

The City of Martin 911 Dispatch Center is responsible for activating the outdoor emergency warning system.   The system is tested on the last Wednesday of every month at 12:00 p.m.  In the event of a weather emergency and you hear the sirens, please take cover immediately and utilize the Emergency Broadcast System on your local TV or radio station. This broadcast will provide the most up to date information about the weather threat and let you know when the threat has passed.  Please note that the National Weather Service, not the City of Martin 911 Dispatch Center, will give an “all clear” notification.
