Welcome to the City of Martin Fire/Rescue/EMS

The City of Martin is 12.4 square miles in size, located approximately 49 miles from Jackson and 114 miles from Memphis and is home to The University of Tennessee at Martin campus.  Martin has a population of 11,473 residents which can increase to over 17,000 when the college is in session.

The City of Martin Fire/Rescue/EMS Department is an ISO Class 4 career department consisting of 41 full-time personnel that currently operate from 3 stations with 4 Engines, 1 Aerial, 3 Medic Units, 1 Rescue, 1 Brush Truck, and 1 Special Operations Trailer. The department has a Mission Statement with clearly stated goals and objectives. Personnel from every rank in the department are involved in special projects to help the department reach its goals and to help us serve the public better.

Beyond the routine firefighter and officer certifications, the department’s personnel are also certified in HAZ-MAT Operations, Paramedic, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Medical Responder, and Vehicle Rescue. All personnel are certified in the American Heart Association CPR with the use of Automated External Defibrillation (AED’s).  All apparatus are equipped with these life saving devices.
