Day Care Visits

DSC_0681Firefighters scheduled visits to local day care facilities can be arranged upon request. They can share basic fire safety information with the children, show them the fire engine, and what a firefighter looks like in bunker (firefighting) gear. The presentation focuses on teaching children that firefighters are their friends, not to play with matches and lighters, and how to safely exit the home in case of fire.

 

 

Safety Presentations and Speakers

The City of Martin Firefighters can present on fire safety, firefighting as a career, or any field related topic at the request of the group. The Fire Department will send a selected member to present the topic or topics requested.

If you would like to arrange for a speaker to visit a group function, please contact the Fire Department to schedule a date. We recommend that speakers be requested at least two weeks before the event. This is a free service of the City of Martin Fire Department.

 

Fire Truck Appearance

DSC_0702If available, the City of Martin Fire Department will send a fire apparatus (engine or ladder truck) to public events, such as parades or festivals, upon request.  A two week advanced notice is requested.  The City of Martin Fire Department does not send fire trucks to individual residences.

During the appearance, firefighters can explain features of the apparatus, talk about the job of firefighting, and provide fire safety information. Upon availability, the firefighters may also distribute stickers for the children and fire safety pamphlets for adults who request them.
