The City of Martin Fire Department is Currently NOT Accepting Applications.

 

To become a firefighter with the City of Martin you have to meet the requirements below:

Minimum Requirements Are:
1. Be at least 18 years of age.

2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
3. Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
4. Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
5. Be physically fit for normal fire fighting functions.
6. A minimum of Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy 64 hour Basic Firefighting and 16 hour Firefighter I Live Burn is preferred.
7. Must pass a Written and Physical Agility Test.
8. Pass an Oral Interview. 

Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:
1. Pass an NFPA Physical Examination.
2. Pass Psychological Evaluation.

3. Pass a Drug Screening Test.
4. Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
5. Must Attend the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy 10 week Recruit Class, Unless Already Completed with Valid Proof of Completion.

6. Must become a Certified State of Tennessee Medical Responder within 12 months of the date of hire.
7. Must become a State of Tennessee Licensed A-EMT when training becomes available.

Successful candidates will have an initial probationary period of 24 months.

Starting Base Annual Salary: $25,235.00
