The City of Martin Fire/Rescue is now accepting application for the following positions, Paramedic, Advanced EMT, Part-time Paramedic, Part-time AEMT, and Firefighter. For more information please see both job descriptions below.

The City of Martin Fire Department is accepting applications for the following positions:

Paramedic (Full-Time), AEMT (Full-Time), Paramedic (Part-Time), AEMT (Part-Time)

 The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual possessing a desire to make a difference in the lives of the community served. The successful candidate will have a work schedule 24 hours on and 48 hours off.

Minimum Requirements Are:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  3. Have a High School Diploma or proof of G.E.D.
  4. Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s License with F Endorsement.
  5. Possess a valid appropriate Tennessee Department of Health EMS License.

Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:

  1. Pass a Medical Physical Examination.
  2. Pass a Drug Screening Test.
  3. Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
  4. Successfully Complete In-House Training to the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy Basic/Live Firefighting Curriculum, Unless Proof of Completion can be Submitted.

Successful candidate will have an initial probationary period of 24 months.

Benefit package includes Health, Dental, Life, and Vision Insurance. The City of Martin is part of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) with the adoption of the Public Safety Clause.

Starting Base Annual Salary: Depends on Qualifications

The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual possessing a desire to make a difference in the lives of the community served. The successful candidate will have a work schedule 24 hours on and 48 hours off.

Minimum Requirements Are:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  3. Have a High School Diploma or proof of G.E.D.
  4. Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
  5. A minimum of Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy 64-hour Basic Firefighting and 16-hour Firefighter I Live Burn is preferred but not required.
  6. Must Pass a Written and Agility Test.
  7. Pass an Oral Interview.

Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:

  1. Pass a Medical Physical Examination.
  2. Pass a Drug Screening Test.
  3. Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
  4. Must Attend and Successfully Complete the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy 10-week Recruit Class, Unless Already Certified as Firefighter II with the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting Standards and Education.
  5. Become a Certified State of Tennessee Medical Responder at first available class provided.
